All our beanbags are now available with filling if requested, this can be mailed to you along with the beanbag itself. Alternatively you can order just the beanbag cover and simply source the filling yourself as described below.
The filling required for the beanbag is polystyrene ‘beans’, an inexpensive material which you will find widely available in your area. Look in your local trade directory under ‘Packaging Materials’ or ‘Foam Shops’. Polystyrene ‘beans’, are used extensively as a filling and packing material throughout the world.
* Please note that these ‘Beans’ can come in more than one grade, we strongly recommend the use of the Fire Retardant grade. We like to believe that the polystyrene beads we supply are of the very highest quality. They are jumbo beads - 3mm - 5mm in diameter. These beads have another special quality in that they don't maintain a static electricity charge. This is a blessing and prevents the beads from sticking all over the bag during emptying and filling!
And finally if you do not wish to source the filling yourself we are now able to ship your beanbag complete with filling (UK only). The cost of the filling is £26.50 per 10 cu ft.

* All Gerbol Beanbag filling and covering fabrics meet the requirements
for resistance to cigarette and match ignition.

Do not overfill your Gerbol beanbag. We recommend leaving a little space inside for the ‘beans’ to move and spread uniformly. This allows the bag to take on the form of your body as you sink into it, giving the ultimate degree of comfort.
Washing your Gerbol beanbag is very simple. Just empty the filling into a large plastic bag (or bags) turn the empty cover inside out closing the zip as far as possible. As an extra precaution give the Gerbol label a quick ironing as this helps to fix the ink. Put the whole cover into a pillow case and place into the washing machine on a cool wash with no spin. DO NOT tumble dry, our covers are very quick drying naturally. Please note that the Fur is machine washable whilst the Cotton is strictly dry clean, and the Nylon is hand wash only, in addition you may want consider to give a gentle brush while the Fur is wet to revive the pile. Once dry, just pour the ‘beans’ back into the bag. It’s as simple as that!
Optional Liner
As an additional aid we have produced an inner liner bag which you can use to contain your filling. This makes emptying and filling your beanbag even easier and safer for young children.
Precaution Young Children
If you have young children around the house then you might like to consider the following as a precaution: putting a couple of hand stitches over the zip fastener when in the closed position will lock it and avoid accidental opening of the zip.We do not recommend our beanbags for use around children aged three or under.
Precaution Asthma
We do not recommend our fur fabrics where there are asthma sufferers in the family. Our Cord and leather fabrics however will be a safe option.
